From the beginning I have always thought allotment people as quite dull. I don’t have a problem with this as I belong to the ‘Dull Men’s Club’ and I’m also the Ambassador of the Mundane.
After touring Redditch allotments and talking to the growers, I discovered what an amazing bunch they all are.
With the high cost and now rarity of fruit and veg on our supermarket selves, these allotment planters are showing us the way and producing their own stuff. The cost of tomatoes now place them as the Class A of veg.
The amount of recycling equipment such as old bath tubs, sinks, toilets, you name it, anything that can hold soil and has its own drainage system can be used. These diggers have become the true Eco-Warriors.
